The Art of Fine Woodworking combines creativity, art, and craftsmanship to create beautiful objects (often furniture) out of one or many different species of wood and woodworking techniques. The classes offered give students the fundamentals they will need to design, plan, construct, and finish their own creations out of hardwoods. Students will learn about the characteristics of wood, project planning, woodworking techniques, and most importantly, the safe operations of power tools. The best part of all classes is that the student gets to bring home their own project to enjoy or share with others!
The courses have been designed for many different levels of interest starting with the basic fundamentals of woodworking for the novice woodworker. Intermediate level courses continue to focus on the safe use of power tools and learning increasingly complex types of joinery. Finally, the upper-level classes are for students who have demonstrated the safe operation of power tools and prefer to work with less guidance on more complex projects.
Please understand that we are working towards offering courses to satisfy a variety of experience and interest. We will update dates and times of classes as the school year progresses and will also post upcoming classes on our Facebook page (link at bottom of this)
