201 -Intermediate Finger Joint Joinery-Keepsake Box/Historical Box

This class is typically taken after 200 or you may be admitted If you have other prior woodworking experience, and you obtain prior consent from the instructor(s).  In this class you will learn another joinery technique called Finger Joints which are significantly more stable.   This is more of historical joint given its long-term durability with finger joint boxes dating back hundreds of years ago.   Finger joints are cut in precisely cut intervals and lock together tightly creating an attractive and very durable box.   The top and bottom of your box will be created from another joinery technique called rabbeting.  Finally, you will complete your box with the same finishing technique as used in the 200 class.
