If you are new to woodworking and feel uncomfortable with operating power tools, we strongly suggest that this should be the first class you take. In this class, students will have lecture, demonstration, and shop time under the supervision of an experienced craftsman and teaching assistants.  No prior woodworking experience is required.  This class will help you overcome any fear of potentially dangerous woodworking machinery by learning the fundamentals of several machines and their safe operation. Each student will create a beautiful and unique pair of hardwood trivets out of cherry, walnut, oak, and maple.
